Brescia

Brescia is a town of Roman origins as per its name Colonia Civica Augusta Brixia given by the Emperor August. The latin word Brixia comes from the greek Βρηξία and is frequently mentioned in the works of Catullo, Livio, Pliny the Elder and many more.
It later became Brèsa and remained unchanged throughout the centuries as per its usage today in “Lombardo” and “Veneto” dialects. Industrial and historic landscapes balance the flat horizon of the plain where the town lays.
